Health Insurance Marketplace
When key parts of the Affordable Care Act take effect in 2014, there will be a new way to buy health insurance: the Health Insurance Marketplace. The Marketplace is designed to help you easily find health insurance that fits your budget.
Health insurance plans in the new Marketplace will offer comprehensive coverage, from doctors to medications to hospital visits. It also allows you to compare all your insurance options based on price, benefits, and other features.
Starting on October 1, 2013, you will be able to get information about all the plans available in your area and enroll yourself and your family through the Marketplace website, https://www.healthcare.gov. To get a head start, you can also learn how to get ready to enroll in the Marketplace.
Health insurance coverage from the Marketplace begins on January 1, 2014.
Parkland HEALTHplus (PHP) provides health care to indigent Dallas County residents who meet certain eligibility criteria. PHP is not health insurance. For more information about PHP and the Affordable Care Act, see our FAQ.
